UPDATE MARCH 27, 2020
Gymnastics classes will not be resuming as previously thought due to the current state of emergency that the province of Alberta is in, and the community spread of COVID-19 on the rise.
Your children's, coaches', and staff's health is of paramount importance to us, and we would like to have everyone remain safe and healthy.
Classes will remain cancelled until further notice. Please continue to check back for updates.
We will update here and on facebook once we have more information regarding steps going forward with gymnastics classes.
Next Casino: April 10-11, 2020
Casino Fundraiser will be held at Casino Calgary, 1420 Meridian Road NE, Calgary, AB T2A 2N9
We hold Casino Fundraisers to raise money to help Southern Alberta Gymnastic Club provide a fun & affordable gymnastic experience for your children. Casino funds help keep your fees low by covering our rent, equipment purchases & repairs, and enabling us to provide an exceptional certified coaching staff, etc.
We will need about 36 people to fill all of the shifts required for a 2-day Casino fundraiser. Working a casino is really a lot of fun! A meal and snacks are provided. Make it a date night! The jobs are not difficult and you are never alone; other volunteers and advisors are always there to support each position.
As an incentive to volunteer for our casino, the Southern Alberta Gymnastic Club typically offers a $100 tuition voucher towards your child’s SAGC session fees for each shift worked. Each interested family will be offered one shift, then, if shifts are still available, they will be allotted on a first come, first taken basis. The voucher will be valid for the following session.
Positions Available: (please note that all volunteer casino positions receive training and assistance from the Cash Cage/Count Room Advisor and Casino Staff.)
- General Manager/Alternate General Manager
- Chip Runner
- Count Room Supervisor
- Count Room Staff
As a club, we rely on the funds we receive from these casino fundraisers. It is extremely important that if you cannot make your shift that you let us know with at least 3 days' notice.
If you do not show up for your shift, you will not be allowed to work casino shifts for the SAGC in the future.
There are certain things that casino volunteers are prohibited from doing in the 24 hours leading up to their shift. This list includes:
- Consumption of Alcohol
- Gambling in ANY Casino
